CONFERENCE PAPER AND PANEL/ROUNDTABLE PROPOSALS

We have invited proposals in all areas of international studies. Applicants have submitted individual paper proposals, or proposals for complete panels or roundtables. With the latter, we have attempted to ensure that panel and roundtable proposals are gender balanced and include a mix of junior and senior scholars.

The deadline for proposals was 20 January 2016.

Notifications of success have been emailed out to those who submitted successful paper, panel and roundtable proposals. To secure a place in the program, presenters must have registered by 30 April 2016.

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

Please note that due to the high number of submissions received, in some cases a fourth paper has been added to panels that originally had only three presenters nominated.

We request that panel members circulate their papers to each other two weeks prior to the conference. Should you have difficulty contacting members of your panel, please let us know at OCIS2016@uq.edu.au.

To ensure that everyone has a chance to appear on the program, OCIS will allow each individual to present twice only. These two presentations can comprise any mix of paper presentations or roundtable presentations. Presentations based on single authored or co-authored papers are counted equally. There are no limitations on how many times an individual can appear as a non-presenting Chair of a panel or as a discussant.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Paper presentations should be between 12-15 minutes long. Discussants on panels will be given 10 minutes for their comments. Each session is arranged so that there will be roughly 20-25 minutes for questions.

PAPER GUIDELINES

There are no official style guidelines for papers prepared for OCIS 2016, but participants should use consistently one of the styles commonly employed in Political Science. For guidance, refer to the Chicago Manual of Style (http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/home.html).

PLEASE NOTE: This year the OCIS Organising Committee will not be refereeing papers and there will be no published conference proceedings or maintaining a paper archive. If, however, conference funding from your institution is contingent on a refereed paper please contact us at OCIS2016@uq.edu.au and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
